What I've learned from starting a YouTube channel as a musician

100 Videos on YouTube – Reflecting on the process

I can’t believe I’ve just hit 100 video uploads on this channel! It’s been an interesting journey, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on how far things have come, what I’ve learned along the way, and what’s next.

I uploaded my very first video back in 2015, not really knowing where it would lead. At the time, I was just experimenting, trying things out, and seeing what it was like to put my work online. But it wasn’t until the summer of 2019 that I really started focusing on creating content for my music business—lessons, performances, and insights into my experience as a musician.

Since then, I’ve been learning as I go—figuring out how to make better videos, how to share my passion for music in a way that’s engaging and helpful, and most importantly, how to connect with other musicians through this platform.

What I’ve Learned So Far

Looking back, here are a few things I’ve discovered from my journey on YouTube so far:

  • Consistency is key – Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but showing up regularly and creating content has helped me improve my skills and reach more people over time.

  • It’s okay to evolve – My content has changed as I’ve grown, and that’s a good thing. Trying different styles of videos and seeing what resonates has helped shape the direction of my channel.

  • Engagement matters more than views – Connecting with viewers, responding to comments, and knowing that my videos are actually helping people means more than any number of views or subscribers.

  • You don’t need to be perfect – I used to overthink every detail, but I’ve learned that just starting and putting something out there is the most important part. I’ve improved along the way, and I know I’ll keep getting better with each video.

What’s Next?

I’m excited to keep growing, keep experimenting, and keep sharing music-related content with all of you. There’s so much more to explore, and I’m looking forward to making videos that inspire, educate, and connect with other musicians on their own journeys.

If you’ve been following along, thank you for being a part of this! Whether you’re new to my channel or have been watching for a while, I appreciate every comment, like, and interaction—it really means the world.
