Caleb Yang is a Nashville-based cellist, session musician, and music educator whose work bridges classical, commercial, and contemporary styles. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, he studied at UCLA before relocating to Nashville, where collaboration across genres continues to shape his artistic voice.
His performance experience spans orchestral, touring, and commercial music settings. He has performed as a substitute cellist with the Nashville Symphony, toured with Benjamin William Hastings and Martina McBride, and performed with artists including Phil Wickham, Alana Springsteen, Amanda Shires, Danielle Bradbery, and David Cook.
As a session cellist, Caleb contributes cello parts and string arrangements for artist projects. His recording credits include Benjamin William Hastings, Chris Tomlin, Bethel Music, Postmodern Jukebox, Blessing Offor, Aodhán King, We Are Messengers, and others. Through his work with Nashville Music Scoring, he has contributed to film, television, and video game projects, including productions for Apple TV+, Disney+, Marvel Entertainment, Sony, Bungie, and Blizzard Entertainment.
Caleb uses live looping to create solo performances, original compositions, and self-produced projects that blend influences from a variety of musical styles.
He has taught strings in classroom settings, led clinics for schools, universities, summer festivals, and music programs, and worked with students around the world in live looping and creative string playing.
